Your online account security is incredibly important to us and as such we enhanced Chorley Online and your account’s security with Two-Factor Authentication in 2021. As this additional layer of security is now in place, you will no longer be required to enter characters from your memorable information when logging into Chorley Online from 25th January 2023.
What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-Factor Authentication is an extra layer of security which provides a way of ‘double-checking’ that you are the person who holds the account and it ensures that you’re the only person who can access your account, even if someone else knows your password. Two-Factor Authentication is a unique code which you can receive via a text message or automated call which is then used to complete Chorley Online security.
Do I need to do anything?
If you currently use Two-Factor Authentication and your Chorley Online account already contains an up to date contact telephone number, you do not need to do anything.
If your Chorley Online account does not currently contain a contact telephone number for you, when you next log into Chorley Online you will be sent an email to complete the setup of your Two-Factor Authentication. When you receive the email please follow the link which will open up a new Chorley Online window in your browser.
You will then be instructed online how to setup Two-Factor Authentication. You can choose to either be sent a text message or receive an automated call with a code for you to enter. Once you have entered the code, Two-Factor Authentication will be setup on your account. Every time you access Chorley Online in the future, you will be sent an authentication code by your preferred method.
You can change your contact details/preferred method via Chorley Online at any time. Simply log into your Chorley Online account and review your contact details by selecting your name in the top left hand corner and then selecting ‘Update Contact Details.’
Alternatively you can message us within Chorley Online or call us on 01257 235003 and we can do this for you.
Who do I contact if I need help?
You can email us at savers@chorleybs.co.uk or call us on 01257 235003 and we will be happy to help.
