FAQ: Products

Are there any incentives available?

Yes, the Society offers additional incentives from time to time. The Society has various products currently available to customers who are looking to either re-mortgage or purchase a property. These include incentives such as mortgage indemnity insurance paid by the Society and/or free valuations and/or cashbacks. Please refer to the Mortgage section of the website or contact one of our mortgage advisers for further details as to the current range of incentives available.

If I move house would I have to pay the Early Repayment Charge?

All products can be transferred to another property without incurring the early repayment charge applicable to your product. This assumes your new mortgage with the Society is for the same amount or more than your current mortgage. If you sell and buy on the same day we will transfer any remaining early repayment charge to your new mortgage.

What happens if I sell my house but there is a delay before I can move into my new house?

The early repayment charge will apply but the Society will refund this fee once your new mortgage with us has completed. The Society will refund the early repayment charge up to six months from the date your previous mortgage was repaid.

Will overpayments to my mortgage incur an early repayment charge?

A 10% overpayment is allowed each year on all mortgage schemes without incurring a penalty. On some of the Society's schemes you are able to make overpayments without charge. Please refer to the individual mortgage scheme sheets for guidance or discuss with one of our mortgage advisers.

Can I have more than one mortgage product on my mortgage?

Yes. You can have more than one product. The Society's mortgage adviser will be happy to discuss the advantages and disadvantages with you.

When my product ends does the Society offer me other products?

Yes. Once your product ends the Society will be happy to offer you another option and has a range of exclusive loyalty products for existing Chorley Building Society mortgage customers assuming you meet the qualifying conditions. A product fee may be required. If you do not wish to change to another product the Society's Standard Variable Rate will apply.

Where can I find the terms and conditions of a mortgage product?

The Society displays the terms and conditions of all mortgage products on this website. Additionally you may refer to the relevant product sheet and the Mortgage Key Facts Illustration (this is a document provided to you before you make a formal application). The details are duplicated later when you receive a Mortgage Offer.
